Welcome to our Gite!  Part of a tastefully converted 19th Century traditional French farmhouse, this charming semi-detached cottage offers self-containment and privacy from the main farmhouse and all the comforts of home. Set in extensive gardens you will love the country ambience. We welcome you to pick seasonal fruits from our many fruit trees, (season permitting, of course), and generally enjoy the delights of our lovely garden and the surrounding countryside – not the least of which is a lush display of sunflowers throughout the district in the summer months. 

From the main living area, French doors (what else!), open onto a sun-drenched patio and BBQ area with suitably comfortable garden furniture supplied, so long lunches and evening BBQ's enjoying our fabulous local produce and wines are heartily recommended.  Your own designated 2-car parking area is just a step or two away through the garden gate for convenience.

The cottage itself has been restored in the French Provincial style, with typical wooden floorboards intact, white-washed stone walls and beautiful old oak beams resplendent.  It is so warm and friendly we hope you will want to make this your permanent base for exploring this fabulous region of La Belle France.

Although conveniently close to the main road you could be a million miles away in this peaceful hamlet set amid glorious farmland....with our very own local Chateau just at the end of the lane!  A summer stay means long sunny days of peaceful relaxation, or work up your appetite for the many lovely restaurants and cafes in the region with a brisk country walk.  As peaceful as we are at "le Nid D’Oiseau", you are well and truly on the doorstep of wonderful and iconic French towns like Chinon, Saumur and Poitiers with it's Futuroscope Theme Park, or Fontevraud Abbey,  just begging to be explored.  All these and more are within a one hour easy drive.  Visit the nearby Chateaux including “Usse” of "Sleeping Beauty" fame or "Clos Luce" where Leonardo da Vinci spent his last days, and discover the many working models of his amazing inventions.

Also available locally are swimming pools, fishing, mountain bike hire, horse riding, golf, water sports, archery, rifle shooting targets, children’s play area and tennis..........and when you've finished being active, don't forget the lovely local wines of Chinon, Saumur and Vouvray.... and your only decision will be in which of our superb nearby venues to enjoy your wine and soak up the local atmosphere.
